Elvis Cridlington is one of those people for whom the fifties never died – even though he wasn’t even born at the time. Elvis loves Rock and Roll and is forever writing songs about his beloved Pontypandy and playing them on his guitar to entertain Dolly the fire station emergency dummy.
Elvis may seem over excitable and childlike (traits that can sometimes get him into trouble with the strict and stoic Station Officer Steele) but don’t be fooled, Elvis is a brave and fearless Firefighter. His prowess with launching Saturn (the Fire Station’s Incident Support Imaging System) is undisputed, his skill with sticky foam is second to none and he is a demon with a Floppy Shovel.
Elvis is also the Fire Station’s cook but sometimes his dishes don’t arrive at the table quite as he intended. His shepherd’s pie ended up being driven away on Jupiter’s roof, in the Great Pontypandy Bake Off, his Shake Rattle and Swiss Roll turned into a great ball of fire and, in the past, Station Officer Steele has blamed his sea sickness on Cridlington’s Chicken Pasta. Elvis also makes the best cup of tea in the Fire Station. His signature dish is vegetarian lasagne.
Elvis sometimes helps-out with maintenance and has a habit of talking to Jupiter as if she was a person, which to Elvis she is.
FUN FACTS:
Elvis has a cousin called Jerry Lee Cridlington who is almost identical to Elvis apart from his quaffed blonde hair. Jerry Lee is reputed to be a better cook than Elvis although Elvis would disagree.
In his spare time Elvis is writing a biography of Fireman Sam called ‘Brave to the Core’.
